Grand Mesa is the largest flat-topped mountain in the world! It is 40 miles across and most of that is above the altitude of 10,000 feet. We are fortunate to live about one hour away. The terrain is rolling hills with evergreens, aspen groves, small lakes and meadows so it is perfect for snowshoeing and cross country skiing. It is also a favorite spot for our dog Jasmine after a good snowfall. The narrow tracks through bottomless powder put her in snowmobile mode and I think this is what she dreams about when she yips and flinches in her sleep later that night.
